The Public Health Engineering Department (PHED) Rajasthan has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with South Australia on March 3, 2025 for innovations in the water sector. The MoU involves the collaboration for research, technical assistance, exchange of innovative technologies and groundwater management through the Australia India Water Centre.
It also seeks to facilitate an efficient implementation and longevity of the ‘Har Ghar Jal’ scheme under the Jal Jeevan Mission. This will be ensured through the maintenance of drinking water sources with collaborative technology and research. In line with this, a workshop was organised to prioritise sustainable strategies on reverse osmosis wastewater management, deployment of technological advancements in managing surface water and groundwater, capacity building, and recycling of polluted drinking water, among others.
