The central government has laid the foundation stone for the Visakh-Raipur multi-product pipeline. Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Limited is planning to construct a 540 km pipeline from Visakhapatnam in Andhra Pradesh to Raipur in Chhattisgarh, along with allied facilities including a depot at Kantabanji with a system capacity of over 3 mtpa, entailing an investment of Rs 22.1 billion. The pipeline will facilitate product evacuation from the expanded Visakhapatnam refinery and support distribution to the country’s eastern, central and northern regions.
