L&T Energy Green Tech, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Larsen & Toubro Limited (L&T), has won a contract for implementation of a green hydrogen generation unit at the Panipat refinery petrochemical complex on build, own, operate basis. L&T Energy will supply green hydrogen at Rs 397 ($4.67) per kg, inclusive of 18 per cent goods and services tax. Bids for the same were invited by IOCL in September 2024. The duration of the contract is 25 years. IOCL is also implementing a 10 kilotonnes per annum green hydrogen plant at the Panipat refinery.
