Oil India Limited (OIL) commenced gas production from the Bakhritibba discovered small field (DSF) block on June 1, 2025. It has drilled three multi-well pads for the supply of 67,200 standard cubic metres per day (scmd) and is likely to increase production to 100 standard cubic metres per day (mscmd) of gas. The gas is being supplied to GAIL (India) Limited and Rajasthan Rajya Vidyut Utpadan Nigam Limited (RRVUNL) for downstream utilisation. The Bakhritibba block, located near the India-Pakistan border in Jaisalmer district of Rajasthan, was allocated to OIL under the DSF-III auction.
