Construction of Mangalore LPG cavern completed

Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Limited has completed the construction of the 80,000 tonne Mangalore liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) cavern in Karnataka. The project entailed an investment of Rs 8.54 billion. The underground storage facility is strategically located to enhance nationwide LPG distribution. The cavern will receive LPG imports through New Mangalore port and supply LPG to the Mangalore LPG bottling plant, road and rail tankers at the Mangalore LPG import facility, and cross-country pipelines extending to Mysore, Bengaluru and Hyderabad.
