The Assam bioethanol plant was inaugurated on September 14, 2025. The bioethanol plant, entailing Rs 50 billion, is reportedly the first second-generation bioethanol plant, with the utilisation of bamboo as feedstock. The plant is expected to reduce the dependence on fossil fuels in line with the clean energy mission.
