A cooperative multi-feed CBG plant was inaugurated at Kopargaon in Maharashtra on October 5, 2025. The move reportedly marks the first time that a CBG plant and a potash granule production unit are being established at the Maharshi Shankarrao Kolhe Sahakari Sakhar Karkhana. The project, entailing an investment of approximately Rs 550 million, has the capacity to produce 12 tonnes of CBG per day and 75 tonnes of potash from jaggery/molasses. The move is also in line with efforts towards a self-reliant India, given that these products are currently imported.
