The scientists at the Indian Institute of Information Technology (IIIT), Prayagraj and Sam Higginbottom University of Agriculture, Technology and Sciences (SHUATS) have jointly developed an artificial intelligence (AI) and internet of things-based device to analyse water purity instantly.
The system activates automatically when a drop of water is put on the sensor module. The sensors measure parameters like pH, turbidity, dissolved oxygen and pollution levels and transmit this data to the advanced AI algorithms and model to determine if the water is safe for consumption. In case of presence of impurities or irregularities, the system immediately issues an alert. This innovative system can be deployed in municipal water systems and industrial units for monitoring the water quality.
