The Ministry of Jal Shakti (MoJS) has launched the Sujalam Application in collaboration with the Bhaskaracharya National Institute for Space Applications and Geo-informatics on December 10, 2025. The application will help to enable advanced geo-referencing, monitoring and management of rural water supply infrastructure under the Jal Jeevan Mission.
Further, the Sujalam Bharat Database will consolidate key information on water sources, infrastructure, scheme designs, operations, supply metrics, and others into a unified digital platform. Through the new Sujal Gaon ID, each habitation will have a clear profile capturing its water source, infrastructure condition, supply reliability, water quality and operations and maintenance (O&M) arrangements.
