The Drinking Water Department (DWD), Goa is planning to replace old water meters with smart meters. Following this initiative, DWD aims to prepare an information management system to enable consumers connect the meters to monitor their water consumption.
Besides, there are plans to equip around 800 overhead and ground level reservoirs with flow meters enabled with online metering for real-time surveillance. The initiative is expected to mitigate leakages and save treated water.
