The Assam Hydrocarbon Exploration, Production and Upstream Ecosystem Development Policy, 2026, came into effect on August 21, 2026. The policy is set to remain in effect for 10 years. It targets to attract investments and accelerate exploration and production of oil and natural gas in Assam. It also offers an investor-friendly framework, facilitating clearances and encouraging advanced exploration technologies.
