Energy Efficiency Services Limited (EESL) has signed an initial agreement with the Petroleum and Natural Gas Regulatory Board (PNGRB) to accelerate the deployment of smart domestic PNG meters. The memorandum of understanding (MoU) targets to facilitate demand aggregation and enhance the large-scale deployment of smart domestic PNG meters. It aims to bring together various stakeholders including city gas distribution (CGD) entities, technology providers, and manufacturers among others. EESL will undertake demand aggregation, and facilitate the coordination between CGD entities and the smart metering ecosystem, in addition to market assessment, technical evaluations, and procurement options. Meanwhile, the PNGRB will support through the regulatory and sectoral perspective and provide information related to aspects including standards, certifications, regulatory developments, etc.
