KIS Group and Paras Dairy have signed an agreement to set up 10 bio CNG plants by 2029 with an investment of around Rs 10 billion. The plants are likely to be set up in Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra and other states. KIS is expected to provide technology, undertake construction and operate the plant, while Paras Dairy will support feedstock sourcing, land acquisition and regulatory approvals. The facilities are likely to process 65,000 – 80,000 tonnes of organic waste per annum each, including dairy waste, cattle manure, napier grass and agricultural residue. The plants are expected to produce around 10 tonnes of bio CNG and 8 – 10 tonnes of natural gas per day each, while generating 40,000 – 50,000 carbon credits annually.
