The Petroleum and Natural Gas Regulatory Board (PNGRB) launched the National Piped Natural Gas (PNG) Drive 3.0 on October 1, 2026. The drive, extending for a duration of six months from October 1, 2026, to March 31, 2027, aims to fast-track the PNG connections across domestic and commercial sectors by activating dormant connections, maximising the existing CGD networks, expanding PNG in semi-urban and rural areas, and connecting new consumers. It targets for 5 million new domestic PNG (DPNG) connections, 4 million conversions to active users, and another 5 million DPNG registrations. This comes following the success and positive implications of the PNG Drive 1.0 and 2.0.
ThePNGRB has also launched the MyPNG Portal on October 1, 2026. The unified, national digital consumer portal aims to streamline PNG services, improve access to information, and strengthen interactions between consumers and city gas distribution entities.
