The Central government is planning to provide around 125 million piped natural gas (PNG) connections by 2030 in both rural and urban areas. The number of PNG connections has increased from 2.5 million in 2014 to 12.1 million in March 2024. Besides, as of January 2024, around 10,000 km gas pipeline has been laid.
