The Hyderabad Metropolitan Water Supply and Sewerage Board (HMWSSB) commenced the trial run on the 320 mld Nagole STP in Hyderabad, Telangana, on July 15, 2024. The STP is one of the 31 being developed by HMWSSB in PPP based hybrid annuity mode, divided into three packages to augment the city’s sewage treatment capacity. The Nagole STP was developed under Package 2 of the project. Package 1 includes the construction of eight STPs with a total capacity of 402.5 mld; Package 2 includes the construction of six STPs with a total capacity of 480.5 mld under Phase II; and Package 3 involves the construction of 17 STPs with a total capacity of 376.5 mld under Phase I.
