Work on Jagadishpur-Haldia-Bokaro-Dhamra gas pipeline almost completed

Over 97.6 per cent physical progress has been achieved on the Jagadishpur-Haldia-Bokaro-Dhamra gas pipeline, with 3,227 km of the total 3,306 km pipeline already laid. Besides, GAIL (India) Limited has commenced commercial operations on 3,119 km of the pipeline, including the Phulpur-Dobhi-Bokaro-Durgapur section, the Bokaro-Angul-Dhamra section and the Dobhi-Barauni-Guwahati pipeline section, covering 96.6 per cent of the total pipeline. Additionally, work on the Durgapur-Haldia and Dhamra-Haldia sections is expected to be completed by December 2025. The project, being implemented by GAIL (India) Limited, involves the construction of a 3,306 km long pipeline from Jagdishpur in Uttar Pradesh to Haldia in West Bengal at an investment of Rs 129.4 billion. The pipeline is an extension of the Hazira-Bijaipur- Jagdishpur section. Phase I has a capacity of 16 mscmd, which will be further augmented to 32 mscmd in Phase II.
