The Bangalore Water Supply and Sewerage Board (BWSSB) has opened its wastewater treatment plants to startups working on water technologies, with an aim to accelerate wastewater-related research and development (R&D) under the Brand Bengaluru initiative. The startups involved in developing and deploying advanced wastewater recycling technologies will help to catalyse research and strengthen circular water practices.
As the first pilot project under Brand Bengaluru, Boson Whitewater has been permitted to set up operations at the Kadubeesanahalli wastewater treatment plant. The firm will install its advanced water purification systems and bear the cost for the same. Under the project, Bengaluru is expected to receive around 70,000 litres of high-quality treated water every day.
