MoP directs states to reduce AT&C losses to below 10 per cent

The MoP has directed states to scale down their aggregate technical and commercial losses to below 10 per cent at a recent review meeting held on July 22, 2017. Around 4,040 towns have been targeted, of which 200 have losses in the range of 40-90 per cent. The move is being resisted by states including Jharkhand, Uttar Pradesh and Bihar where pilferage and theft of electricity are quite prevalent.
